How Foreign Patients Observe Mother’s Day in MCHG

A special event dedicated for all the mothers with a theme of “Love Your Mother, Care for Her Health” was organized in MCHG to show our appreciation to the beloved mothers.

As far as from the Southeast countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines punctually arrived in the venue. They were given the chance to express themselves. The place was filled with a song Time Flies, performed by a Vietnamese interpreter. Her melodic and affectionate voice perfectly conveyed the essence of the song. The lyrics emphasizes that no matter how tight our schedules are, special time and concern should be given to parents. As the time goes by, parents are getting older.

Maternal love is deeply rooted in everyone’s heart but most of the time we are too shy to express it in words. A part of the activity and the most touching one was the footbath for mom. Children of patients wash their mothers’ feet. A way to impart their love and blessings of good health for their beloved mothers and to show that this moment is there time to take care of them instead- a tear jerking and heart-rending moments everyone would cherish.

A daughter of an Indonesian patient couldn’t contain her emotions and kept weeping while thinking how her mother gone through the dreadful disease, sobbing she said Mommy, thank you for everything you did for me. I hope you can defeat cancer and get better soon”.

A male cancer patient even kissed his mom’s feet, cherishing gratitude towards her accompany during his stay in the hospital.

Yana Zein, a breast cancer patient and also a distinguished film star from Indonesia, received a precious present that day. Earlier, the manager of Indonesian office of MCHG arranged a meeting for Yana Zein and her two daughters through remote video patch. She burst into tears when she found the surprise. The two girls also prepared flowers and blessing cards for their mom. Yana Zein was relieved that her daughters are sensible and supporting her during the cancer journey. “I thought I couldn’t have gifts from my daughters today, although I can’t touch the gifts but I can feel their love.” Yana Zeinm took treatment in MCHG since the very beginning of this year. After interventional therapy and cryotherapy, her condition was turning better.

In addition, this activity also consisted of different parts, poetry reading, health teaching and song performance. All patients and families shared an unforgettable moments.

Everyone was entertained. Along with minimally invasive treatment, the celebration also eases patient’s pressure and relieves their pain during the treatment, which also generates strong impetus to their quick recovery, prolongs the survival period and enhances long-term effect.
